How to share speakers over LAN [Need Help]

Hi, I want to use my Desktop speakers to play songs or movies from my laptop. On searching I found a software called Share Speaker Player but it is altogether a new media player.

Is there any simple method to share my desktop speakers over LAN like we share the printers ?

If it's just music you're interested in streaming, iTunes can do that very simply. Just enable library sharing in iTunes on both machines and take it from there.

You need to install a upnp "render" e.g. GMediaRender on the machine physically connected to the speaker, and then all your apps stream to it over the network.

Thanks for quick reply. Will check GMediaRender. As for media sharing, even WMP allows it to share the libraries over LAN.

Ok. Media sharing is possible. Is it possible to share only speakers. i.e can hear sound from my desktop speakers by playing file in my laptop.
